The largest anti-war rally in San Jose history (over 5,000 people).

6. Politicians seem to prefer the South Bay when they come to visit.
We have been there every time to protest not only George W. Bush
(more than once) and John Kerry, but also most recently, John Ashcroft.
Note: SBM is a non-partisan organization and doesn't endorse candidates.

7. We publicly presented our demands to Lockheed Martin to inspect their
facility for Weapons of Mass Destruction. We publicly presented our
demands to the US Attorney

for war crimes, genocide and crimes against the peace and humanity.
We supported the Mexican farmers to protest the WTO in Cancun, Mexico (flyer)
and supported local peace activists protesting the RNC in New York City (flyer).

8. SBM has established several on-going programs to educate the public
and ourselves, including SBM Movie Night, the SBM Exploration Series,
and the SBM Lecture Series, and we support the Think First! Military
Counter-Recruitment Program at www.JustThinkFirst.org.

9. We have shown major progressive documentary films to educate
the public and ourselves, with our two biggest events being,
"Jenin, Jenin" (flyer) at Camera 3 with over 300 attendees, and also
"The 1953 CIA Coup in Iran" with over 150 attendees. When the
Pentagon showed the film "Battle of Algiers" (flyer) to its own staff,
SBM showed that film here as well. As the Bush administration's
rhetoric against Venezuela increased, we showed the film,
"The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" (flyer) about the attempted
coup of the democratically elected government of Venezuela.
We put on a Palestinian documentary series to educate everyone
about the Palestinian people's struggle against occupation.

10. We have hosted speakers to talk about US foreign policy and the War on Iraq (flyer), patriotism and propaganda (flyer), the media, media distortion of Palestine (flyer), electoral politics (flyer), electronic voting (flyer), depleted uranium (flyer), the war on our civil rights (flyer), and the PATRIOT Act (flyer), report backs from Iraq (flyer), (and another, flyer), report backs from protests against the WTO (flyer) and the RNC (flyer) and others.
