San Jose,
CA, October 16, 2003
October is the first anniversary of the South Bay Mobilization.
Last October, a few of us got together and joined the
millions of the people around the world working to Stop
the War. We did not Stop the War, but we met many other
activists with the same goal and through the hard &
persistent work of all of us, we created the South Bay
Mobilization last October, 2002.
We raised the consciousness of our community about the
war and the reasons that lead to war without end. Throughout
many vigils, protests, monthly movies & lectures,
leafletting, debates, meetings, contacting officials
for passing resolutions and ... SBM became a very active
and vital part of the progressive community in the South
Bay.
We have a very impressive record for our first year
of activity with many reasons to celebrate the success
of Educating, Involving & Mobilizing the members
of our community to stand for Peace & Justice throughout
this past year.
Congratulations to All of You!
We would
like to invite all of you to come to our next meeting
on Oct. 16th at 7:00 PM to celebrate with us the first
anniversary of SBM. This celebration consists of an
Award Ceremony for all of you that created the SBM,
plus a look back at a collection of flyers, pictures
and documents that reflect our first year of our activism.
